Zent is a solar-powered self-inflating tent. It charges while on your back and can inflate in three minutes. The target group for this product is the "Z generation". They are the generation that is deeply involved in technology and are comfortable with it. My design gets that "Z generation" out in nature while using technology to make it fun and easy for them. It provides easy shelter in an interesting way and gets those interested in technology outdoors. By not having those complex tent poles and those confusing instructions, the Zent is very easy to set-up.

Tjorn is an “IKEA” themed modular planter that is designed for lower-income families. Tjorn will allow these families to grow plants in the limited space that they have and do so effectively and with ease. The Tjorn planter is designed to produce tomato plants in the vertical growing method. This means that the tomato plant is growing vertically rather than horizontally (wide) making it extremely space efficient. Growing vertically also causes the plant to produce fewer leaves and stems and more fruit. Tjorn has a self-watering system as well as a drip watering system that makes it very easy to maintain the plant. The drip watering system will help the user save water as well as take better care of the plant. The Tjorn is designed so that it can be aligned in many different formations allowing the user to customize their garden.
The design goal was to design a product that enhances homeless daily task as well as improving their means of transportation. The Extension cart improves their lives by providing them with a tool that makes their lives easier. The cart is extremely light weight due to its hollow durable poles with a soft good storage. The cart is ideal because it is customizable with its size. The cart extends and shrinks with the use of a simple push pin. The bottom storage extends to six feet to act as a cot at night. The cot allows the user to sleep with all of their belongings close by. The whole design allows the cart to be manufactured for under $100 dollars not including labor.
2 Scent is a project from Advance Materials and Processes. The project required us to design a phone accessory and manufacture it with precision using the manual equipment. This project improved my knowledge on how to build models in many different ways.
2 Scents is a case that attaches to your phone. With most people never going anywhere without their phone creates many opportunities to include in a phone case. The 2 Scents is a phone case that fights against bad odors. By having 2 Scents you are always prepared for those unpleasant smells no matter where they come from. 2 Scents have two scent pads that can be replaced as pleased. One scent has an odor eliminating scent and the other is a casual perfume or neutral scent that the user chooses.
The NAR Hookah is a project from DSID 134 "Design and Meaning". I decided to design something that I am really familiar with and that can hopefully become a family heirloom. I imbued values that my family would appreciate and relate to in the design. My family, which consist of 6 kids, are very close. My father is an engineer and my mother is a stay home mom that is very into arts and crafts. My parents have raised 6 kids and have helped 5 of us go to college so far. My father who is one of the hardest working people I know resembles the base. The base is made of concrete that resembles my dad's job, which is the lead engineer for a grouting company. The neck of the hookah is made of 4 exotic kinds of wood that are from around the world. This part of the design relates to how Hookahs are a social activity and brings people together no matter what color, race, gender or culture they are. There are some more design and meaning in this project and if you're interested, contact me and we can discuss them over email or some hookah.
Problem statement
Per every one-bed space in homeless shelters, there are 3.6 Unhoused individuals in need of a place to sleep. Those who do use the temporary shelter in these facilities claim their stay can be just as restless and dehumanizing as a night on the streets. This reality leads to patterned and chronic sleep deprivation; a leading cause of mental illness and a homeless individual’s inability to build their way out of a transient lifestyle. Reset is a team-based project carried out during our senior year. The Reset is a sleeping module that allows homeless to get a safe and relaxing nights rest. The reset is proposed to be placed in church parking lots. The module folds up during the day allowing cars to park and unfolds at night.
